Jagwire CEX Brake cable outer casing (5mm x 200m)

Jagwire brake cable outer shells are the first choice of many major bike manufacturers around the world. In addition to a wide range of colours, the Jagwire outer brake cable casings are available in three different quality levels.

CEX and CGX-SL are classic outer brake cable casings. In these, the inner cable sheath (liner) is surrounded by a wound steel band. This winding allows a certain compression, but the degree of compression depends on the carbon content of the steel. For this reason, Jagwire offers two different versions:

CGX-SLis a high carbon steel outer shell with Slick-Lube liner. Slick-Lube is a lubricant that is incorporated into the liner over the entire length of the outer shell and noticeably reduces the friction of the inner cable. The result is an outer sheath with extremely low compression.

The CEX outer sheaths are not made of steel, which does not have the enormous strength as the CGX-SL and the liner is without Slick-Lube lubrication.
