Park Tool MLP-1.2 chain lock pliers

Many modern derailleurs use a "Master Link" (also known as a "Quick Link" or "Power Link") that allows the chain to be and removed without driving out a rivet. With the MLP-1.2 Master Link Pliers, these Master Links can be removed and replaced quickly and easily. Simply insert the specially sized jaws into the nut element. Then squeeze the handles to open the link or pull the handles to close the link. Compatible with 5 to 12-speed derailleurs that use a Master Link, including SRAM AXS and Shimano XTR 12-speed.

NOTE: The MLP-1.2 does not remove or install the Master Link type in this case both rivets are attached to a plate. These are often found on older drivetrains or singlespeed bikes. To remove these types of master links, use a pair of needle nose pliers such as the Park Tool NP-6.
