The idmatch Smart Caliper, a kind of sophisticated pelvic gauge with an integrated algorithm, records your relevant anthropometric data. These are the distance between the joint heads of the thighs (known as the intertrochanteric distance), the diameter of the thighs and the inclination and rotation of the pelvis. The software determines the optimal saddle for your desired use.

1.Measuring the intertrochanteric distance

We define the intertrochanteric distance as the measured distance between the joint heads of the two femurs. This distance is crucial for the analysis of the pelvis. idmatch uses the Smart Caliper for this.

2.Measurement of the femur diameter

The relationship between femur diameter and intertrochanteric distance, determines the most favourable saddle shape for the rider.

3.Measurement of pelvic rotation
